IAEA Launches New E-Learning Course on Cancer Imaging Tool PET-CT - International Atomic Energy Agency

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has launched a new e-learning course aimed at enhancing the use of positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) in cancer management. This course provides updated guidelines derived from the IAEA's human health program, ensuring that medical professionals can utilize PET-CT effectively. Diana Paez, Head of Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging, emphasized the importance of PET-CT in delivering personalized cancer care, although its accessibility remains limited in many low and middle-income countries. The course covers 13 cancer categories, detailing the role of PET-CT in diagnosis, staging, therapy evaluation, and follow-ups. It is freely available for healthcare providers and policymakers worldwide through the IAEA Human Health Campus.
